MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – The two-day international scientific and methodological conference “Environmental education and sustainable development. State, objectives, problems and perspectives” will start at the Belarusian State University in Minsk on 25 February. The forum will be held in online format, BelTA learned from the press service of the university.
“More than 60 scientists, teachers and heads of institutions of higher, secondary and supplementary education, specialists of ministries, departments, committees, units of education from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will take part in the event. These are representatives of the International Sakharov Environmental Institute of the Belarusian State University, the Russian Academy of Education, Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University (Ukraine), Gymnasium No.65 in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan), the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan,” the press service said.
Participants will make presentations in four thematic areas: theory and methodology of modern environmental education development; scientific and methodological approaches to the organization of educational environment; innovations and educational creativity; additional education of children, youth and adults for the purposes of sustainable development.
The second day of the conference will be held in the form of online panel sessions. The participants will share their experience in the ecological quest “Journey through the ecological path of the kindergarten”, present new methodological materials for extracurricular activities on the topics: “The role of forests and wetlands in the formation of the climate” and “The wind power for human service”, and will also talk about the thematic eco-weeks and environmental education and upbringing of students.
The forum is organized by the Education Ministry, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, the National Center of Ecology and Local History, and the International Sakharov Environmental Institute of the Belarusian State University.
