MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – During the autumn stocking campaign, the Belarusian Hunting and Fishing Society has released over 34 tonnes of fish into Belarusian water bodies, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Hunting and Fishing Society.
The Belarusian Hunting and Fishing Society has completed its 2025 autumn fish stocking activities and stocked 14 water bodies with fish in the autumn of 2025. The fishing campaign was aimed at improving the wild population, supporting recreational fishing and enhancing the recreational value of the water bodies.
The following water bodies were stocked: Krivichi-1 (Pochapovo) reservoir (Pinsk District) and Lake Sominskoye (Ivatsevichi District) in Brest Oblast; Lake Budovest (Shumilino District) in Vitebsk Oblast; Obkomovsky and the Otolovo water bodies in Gomel Oblast; Mikhnevichi (Smorgon District), the Rachunskoye reservoir (Smorgon District), and Lake Rybnitsa (Grodno District) in Grodno Oblast; Lake Sergievichskoye and floodplains (Pukhovichi District) and Lake Sudoblya (Smolevichi District) in Minsk Oblast; Lenino (Gorki District), Lake Snaryady (Bobruisk District), a section of the Dnieper River (Mogilev District), and Osipovichskoye reservoir (Osipovichi District) in Mogilev Oblast.
A total of 77,600 specimens of fish stocking material were released into these water bodies. The total weight exceeded 34 tonnes.
The Belarusian Hunting and Fishing Society has been conducting fish resource reproduction activities annually since 2014. Throughout 2025, specialists from the Belarusian Hunting and Fishing Society stocked a total of 19 water bodies. The fishing waters were replenished with pike, carp, catfish, grass carp, and silver carp, totaling 110,300 specimens, 1.5 million pike larvae and 177,500 specimens of fertilized zander eggs. The total weight of the introduced fish exceeded 51.7 tonnes.
The fish stocking of water bodies is carried out under the supervision of a special commission, which includes representatives of the Belarusian Hunting and Fishing Society and environmental protection organizations.
