MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – As of 1 June 2022, a total of 116 470 deposit accounts were opened for large families under Belarus' family capital program, including 82,500 deposit accounts at the total amount of $825 million and 33,900 deposit accounts at the total amount of Br739 million, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Labor and Social Security Ministry.
A total of 58,53 families applied for permission to use family capital ahead of schedule. Of them, 50,488 applied to use the money to improve housing conditions, 3,119 to pay for education, 4,924 to receive healthcare services, and two to buy health products for disabled people.
The ministry granted permission to use family capital earlier to 55,796 applicants. Most of such applicants are from Brest Oblast (11,650). Then goes Minsk Oblast with ,9554 families, Gomel Oblast with 9,088, the city of Minsk with 7,853 and Grodno Oblast with 6,526. Mogilev Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast round out the list with 5,630 and 5,495 applicants respectively.
The Labor and Social Security Ministry noted that the family capital program applies to families raising three and more children.
From 1 January 2022 the family capital equals Br25,995.
