MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – In line with Council of Ministers' Resolution No.652 as of 24 September 2019, Our Children charity campaign will be held in Belarus from 9 December 2019 to 10 January 2020, BelTA learned from the National Legal Internet Portal.
During the campaign, heads of government agencies, including local executive officials, will visit orphanages and foster homes, families who raise children with disabilities, rehabilitation centers and facilities for children with special needs, as well as hospitals. They will wish children Happy New Year and Merry Christmas, give them gifts and help resolve their issues. Public associations will also join the campaign.
A New Year party in the Palace of the Republic will be the key event of the campaign. It will be held in Minsk on 23 December. It will gather cadet school students, winners of school Olympiads, art contests and competitions of professional skills, young community leaders, orphans and children without parental care, children with disabilities, children from big families and low-income families, refugee children.
The resolution provides for the establishment of an organizing committee to hold the Our Children charity campaign. It will be led by Deputy Premier Igor Petrishenko.
The document recommends holding the campaign in oblast capitals and in Minsk and in all towns and districts of the country during winter holidays. In line with the document, taking part in the charity events will be senior officials of the regions and the Minsk City Council, administrations of towns and districts.
