MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – We should join efforts to defend the country's achievements, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB) Mikhail Orda told journalists, BelTA has learned.
“Today we should unite to defend everything that has been created in our country. This is the only way to make the country richer and life more comfortable,” Mikhail Orda said.
“Trade unions are workers' organizations. Our top priority is people's peaceful labor and life. There is nothing more important than that. This is our main value. We always stress this and defy those who seek to destroy peaceful lives, stability, and people's prosperity using various means and methods,” he noted.
Mikhail Orda briefed the president on the activities of trade unions and their efforts to help people during the coronavirus pandemic. He also submitted to the head of state a set of additional proposals on this matter.
According to Mikhail Orda, another matter on the agenda was advanced training of workers, which influences labor productivity and salary growth. All categories of workers should undergo continuous advanced training, he believes. “In order to keep up with the times, have competitive workforce, ensure salary growth thanks to high labor productivity, we need to improve workers' qualifications continuously,” Mikhail Orda explained.
He also informed the head of state about the price monitoring carried out by trade unions in association with other agencies and specialists.
