MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) - The USA wants to plunge Europe into the chaos of war, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus Oleg Gaidukevich told the media on 9 September, BelTA has learned.
On 9-10 September, the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus is holding the Congress of Patriotic Forces “For Peace and Development” celebrating the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazis. More than 50 guests from the European Union, the Russian Federation and other countries are taking part in the Congress. The aim of the forum is to unite healthy political forces in the world for mutually beneficial cooperation, for peace without sanctions, wars and pressure. The program of the event includes political and economic sections.
“This is the first time the Congress has been held in an international format. It is a unique event. The myth about Belarus' isolation proved wrong long time ago. We have long been developing our relations with China, the Middle East, many other countries. Today we are showing that Europe is also with us. Europe is not homogeneous,” Oleg Gaidukevich said. “The congress is attended by a large delegation of the Serbian parliament headed by its vice speaker, representatives of Austria, Germany, Poland, France, Slovakia, Bulgaria, our friends from Russia and other countries. The delegations comprise politicians, public figures, and representatives of political parties. Representatives of Ukraine are also present at the Congress. These are people with an alternative point of view, who do not consider Belarus and Russia enemies. The goal of the Congress is peace and development. Today we will tell the people, who have come from Europe, that we are not threatening anyone, that others want to send Europe into the chaos of war. They must see the truth.”
The second day of the congress will be devoted to the economy, the chairman of the political party said. “The event has welcomed a big number of business representatives. They want to work. Some of them immediately say how to circumvent sanctions. They laugh at their governments, which shout that they isolate Belarus and Russia, while buying Belarusian and Russian goods from intermediaries three times over the price,” he emphasized.

“The Congress is marking the 80th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from fascism. The event will start with this theme. At 17.00 the Congress participants will visit the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. Today we can see how the memory of the Great Patriotic War is being erased in Europe, and we want the participants of the Congress return home and tell their compatriots what is really going on. Belarus liberated all of Europe and the world from fascism together with other countries and peoples of the USSR. Fascism has raised its head again,” Oleg Gaidukevich added. “The most important thing is that Europe is being dragged into the war. If Belarus is dragged into the war, the whole Europe will go up in flames, the whole world will go up in flames. The USA needs this. At today’s Congress we are showing that Belarus has many friends in Europe. There are many sincere and good friends, who want to cooperate with us.”
