MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – The USA and Britain are trying to zero out the economic potential of the European Union, Ukrainian public figure Dmitry Vasilets said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“The United States, represented by figures like Trump, Vance, and Rubio, is explicitly saying that America will sell weapons to the NATO private military company, which is the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This strategy echoes America’s World War II policy of maximizing resource extraction from global conflicts. The underlying dynamic is a European war against Russia, from which the U.S. appears intent on securing maximum profit,” Dmitry Vasilets said.
Thus, he asserted that the United States is deliberately receding into the background, while its European Union allies are being pushed to the forefront. “The U.S. seeks to maximize its gains from this conflict. To avoid escalating into a nuclear war, Washington is ceding a more visible role to its key partners, such as Germany, France, Poland, and the Baltic states,” he said.
Dmitry Vasilets believes that Washington possesses sufficient leverage to end the hostilities by immediately halting military aid to Ukraine. He argues that while the U.S. emphasizes diplomacy, it is simultaneously pressuring the EU to purchase American weaponry. “This ensures super-profits for American and British arms manufacturers. I would recommend focusing on who benefits from this conflict rather than on the public rhetoric,” he said.
