MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Unity is a strength, spirit and reliable shield of a nation that is ready to close the ranks at the right time, member of the Council of the Republic, Director of the company Parokhonskoye Vladimir Khrolenko told BelTA.
“Unity is at the heart of everything in the state, in the workplace, in the family. It is the strength, spirit and reliable shield of a nation that is ready to band together at the right time. It is a key to successful work and a happy life,” Vladimir Khrolenko said.
According to him, it is important to understand that nothing in the world comes easy. “Distressing situations arise in our country mainly from misunderstanding and unwillingness to listen to each other. They are trying to divide us and to seize power. Therefore, in order to preserve our statehood, it is necessary to live peacefully, respect each other's opinions and choices, show strong will and put forward important initiatives together, develop a free and strong country, be responsible for its prosperity in the name of the past, a stable present and a bright future,” the senator said.
Yekaterina Serafinovich, a member of the Council of the Republic, Editor-In-Chief of the Lidskaya Gazeta publication, added that many significant events in Belarus are held under the auspices of national unity. “In everyday life, in conversations, Belarusians often recall that we live in difficult times and unity is vital for us. However, in our multi-ethnic and multi-faith society where representatives of different cultures and religions live side by side united by a common history, the desire to live in peace and harmony has always been invisibly present. Today this desire has become even more pronounced. Our compatriots understand that all those for whom Belarus is not just another country on the map must unite and take every effort to make our native land strong in the face of any modern challenges - political, economic, social. The price for this is high - the country's independence and sovereignty,” she said.
According to the senator, the establishment of the Day of People's Unity becomes logical in this context. “This new date in our calendar will remind us that Belarusians stand united in their desire to see their country independent, prosperous, and successful,” Yekaterina Serafinovich concluded.
