Opinion: Ideas of young Belarusian filmmakers are inspirational

MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – Ideas of young Belarusian filmmakers are inspirational, Belarus First Deputy Culture Minister Natalya Karchevskaya said ahead of the awards ceremony of the Listapad International Film Festival in the Moskva movie theater on 8 November, BelTA has learned.

“Young Belarusian filmmakers have a lot of ideas and I hope that all of them will be implemented. Of course, some projects need finalizing yet the ideas at their core are inspiring,” Natalya Karchevskaya said.

According to her, the program of the festival was very eventful. “I watched a lot of films during the festival. The works were very interesting and thoughtful,” Natalya Karchevskaya noted. “I was particularly impressed with the program of the children and youth film competition Listapadzik. It featured family films that children and parents can watch together, ” she added.

Natalya Karchevskaya hopes that the next Listapad film festival will be as fascinating.

The 26th Minsk International Film Festival Listapad was held on 1-8 November 2019 under the slogan “To Joy”. The program of this year's festival included more than 150 films from 50 countries. It featured films from Sudan and Senegal for the first time. The founders of the festival are the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Minsk City Hall. The ART Corporation center of visual and performing arts is the organizer of the event.
