MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – It is of great importance that Belarusians are actively involved in updating the country's fundamental law, a member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Director General of Beltopgaz Aleksei Kushnarenko said at a meeting with the staff of Gosenergogaznadzor, BelTA learned from the enterprise.
Aleksei Kushnarenko spoke in detail about the efforts of the Council of the Republic to develop and adopt high-quality bills. He also paid special attention to the upcoming referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution. “It is of great importance that Belarusians are actively involved in updating the country's fundamental law. All in all, more than 7,000 proposals have been submitted,” he said.
The parliamentarian emphasized the importance of formalizing a new role of the Belarusian People's Congress in the Constitution draft. Other important provisions include historical memory and heroic past of the Belarusian people, traditional family values, healthcare, as well as creating conditions for youth engagement in public life.
