MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) – The Eastern European coordination office for development of clinical guidelines and improvement of the national health system has been created in Belarus, Head of the Endocrinology Department of the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (BelMAPO), Chairperson of the Belarusian Society of Endocrinology, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Larisa Danilova said at a round table hosted by BelTA to discuss innovative technology to prevent, diagnose and treat endocrinology diseases.
“Just a week ago BelMAPO and the Eurasian Organization for Cooperation in Development of Clinical Guidelines and Improvement of the National Health System signed an agreement on the establishment of the Eastern European coordination office that will deal with a number of very important tasks,” Larisa Danilova said. The agreement was preceded by discussions and reconciliations, as well as an international online conference on the BelMAPO platform in December 2020 that brought together the world's leading experts.
According to her, medical communities from different countries seek to unite their efforts. “It is important that treatment standards around the world should be based on uniform approaches, as it will enable their expert assessment. This work will take decades,” she said. A special role in expert work and clinical research is assigned to professional public associations.
The Eastern European office, together with partners, will coordinate the efforts of the CIS member states to develop uniform clinical guidelines to treat diabetes, to evaluate managerial and clinical technologies and outcomes of diabetes research.
The Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education will expand cooperation with international organizations such as UNESCO, WHO, CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, as well as international organizations that are engaged in preclinical and clinical research - the Guidelines International Network, Clinical Research Initiative for Global Health (CRIGH), European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ECRIN), and others.
