MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – Foreign (international) observer from Colombia David Alejandro Toro Ramírez told journalists about his impressions of the election campaign in Belarus after visiting polling station No. 25 in Partizansky District of Minsk, BelTA has learned.
“First of all, it is striking how well the election campaign is organized. I have vast experience in international election observation. I have monitored election campaigns on three continents, and the way this process is organized in Belarus is worthy of respect,” David Alejandro Toro Ramírez said.
He noted that Colombia has a large population. It is hard for voters living in remote regions to reach polling stations. “Such problem does not exit in Belarus as there are many polling stations across the country. I have not had time yet to visit many of them. I would like to visit those located further away from the capital city,” the observer added.
David Alejandro Toro Ramírez emphasized that internal processes of each state should be respected. “Colombia respects the way elections are organized in Belarus,” he emphasized.
