MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) - The objectives of Belarus' social and economic development program for 2026–2030 are clear and well-structured, Vladislav Tatarinovich, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, told the media following the review of the draft document in the Council of the Republic, BelTA has learned.
Vladislav Tatarinovich noted that members of the Council of the Republic were part of the interdepartmental working group responsible for preparing the draft and participated in developing the concept, which was approved by the head of state. Today's discussion was of a “practical, substantive nature”, with particular attention paid to how the defined tasks will be implemented in the regions, on the ground.
“The main point I want to emphasize is that the program is focused on transitioning to a new quality of life for citizens. Seven priorities will cover all areas of our lives. First and foremost, these include social issues, demographic potential, human development, and comfortable living conditions,” Vladislav Tatarinovich said.

Special emphasis is placed on enhancing economic competitiveness, assimilating modern technologies, digitalization, and developing the defense sector. There is also a focus on strengthening regions and fostering entrepreneurship. “More and more of our citizens have the opportunity to work in small and medium-sized enterprises, receive decent wages, and benefit from a good social package,” he added.
The tourism sector has also been identified as one of the priorities. The goal is to help the hospitality industry to double its contribution of to GDP.
Vladislav Tatarinovich emphasized that the program is clear and well-structured in terms of implementation mechanisms. Specific ministers and regions are responsible for each area of activity. All work is organized to ensure that the tasks are achievable and balanced in terms of resources and executors.


Viktor Ananich, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on Economy, Budget, and Finance of the Council of the Republic, added that the meeting participants raised a considerable number of questions. The main directions for the country's development have been outlined. The key distinction of the new program is its alignment with regional programs. In the previous five-year period, the documents were adopted separately. The plans include the construction of new enterprises, social facilities, and rental housing. Special programs have been put together to fund regional initiatives, and bank loans will be provided on preferential terms.
