MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) – Representatives of the self-declared Lugansk People's Republic (LNR) have sent no requests for investigative actions with Roman Protasevich, BelTA learned from Prosecutor General of Belarus Andrei Shved.
The official said: “Nobody has contacted us through official channels.”
While talking to reporters on 14 June, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Dmitry Gora said that international requests, solicitations, instructions sent in line with effective international legislation or in line with domestic legislation can be used as a reason for representatives of any foreign countries to participate in some investigative actions, procedural actions involving Roman Protasevich or can be used to demand extradition.
The Lugansk People's Republic (LNR) has opened a criminal case against Roman Protasevich. He is suspected of voluntarily joining the Azov Battalion and consequently taking part in combat operations in the Donbass territory. The Azov Battalion is prohibited in the LNR.
