Nizhny Novgorod to host Union State universities on 23-27 September

MOSCOW, 17 September (BelTA) – The forum of the Belarus-Russia Union State's universities of engineering and technology will be held in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia on 23-27 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the governor and government of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

"The 13th forum of universities of engineering and technology will be held in Russia for the first time. Previously, Belarus hosted the forum. Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R.E. Alekseev will serve as the main venue of the event", the press service said.

"The forum highlights the importance of engineering science and personnel especially today when Belarus and Russia find themselves under unprecedented sanctions pressure. The industrial scientific and technological potential of our countries allows us to cope with it. The most important thing is to form a common industrial policy of the future," State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev said.

The forum will bring together representatives of Russian and Belarusian universities of technology and will become the main platform for analyzing trends in engineering education of the CIS countries. "Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and Belarus are running many joint projects in various fields, including transportation and industry. Our enterprises actively cooperate creating new growth points. It is very important to provide our economies with personnel. The forum will make it possible to present the potential of our region to the university community," Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Gleb Nikitin emphasized.

The forum will feature the following sections: priority areas of scientific, technical and innovative activities of the Union State universities; development of engineering education in the Union State; youth innovative entrepreneurship; engineering career; youth policy.
