MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – The Youth Council (parliament) of the third convocation under the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus has been formed, BelTA has learned.
The Youth Council (Parliament) of the third convocation at the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus has its first meeting in Minsk on 28 October which was attended by Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova.
Alina Retkova was elected Chairperson of the Youth Council."We will continue projects on the spiritual and moral awareness raising of young people. We will continue to work to preserve the historical memory, to strengthen traditional family values and the institution of a young family among young people. The country has already entered the electoral campaign and we consider it very important and necessary for members of the Youth Parliament to get actively involved in the legal, electoral education of young people," Alina Retkova said. “The most important thing for the third convocation is to build on the work done by our colleagues."
The Youth Council (Parliament) of the third convocation at the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus includes 138 young people aged 18 to 31 years from the regions and the city of Minsk. The gender composition of the new Youth Parliament is as follows: 46 men and 92 women. In terms of age structure it is dominated by representatives aged 26 to 31 years (64 people), from 22 to 25 years (61 people), from 18 to 21 years (13 people). The average age of the members of the Youth Parliament is 25.
Members of the Youth Council (Parliament) of the second convocation at the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus took part in more than 300 one-on-one meetings with citizens and 200 direct telephone lines by members of the Council of the Republic and deputies of the House of Representatives, deputies of city, regional and district councils of deputies and representatives of public organizations and associations. Members of the Youth Council (Parliament) took part in meetings of the Council of the Republic, joint meetings of the Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives, meetings of city, regional and district Councils of Deputies.
Of the 138 members of the Youth Council (parliament) at the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, 84 people were members of the regional and city bodies of the Belarusian youth parliamentarism.

Most of the members of the Youth Parliament are working youth (133 people). It also has four students of higher education institutions and one master's student.
Of the 138 members of the Youth Parliament, 115 people have university degrees, 19 people – vocational degrees; five are deputies of local councils of deputies and five are the delegates of the Belarusian People's Congress.

As of 1 August 2024, members of the Youth Council (Parliament) organized more than 1,800 events, and also took part in more than 3,000 events.
