MOSCOW, 22 March (BelTA) - New airline routes are opening up for Belarusian travelers in Russia, Filip Guly, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Tourism Industry Union, said at a press conference in Moscow, BelTA has learned.
"Belarusians have an interest in the Russian tourist products. This year, we have opened a lot of new revolutionary destinations thanks to the efforts of governors, the federal government of Russia, the government of Belarus and our national airline. Belavia flies to Murmansk, to Ufa," Filip Guly said.
"We are about to launch a flight to Makhachkala and then Belarusian tourists will have access not only to the Caspian Sea but also to the North Caucasus, which is very interesting for the Belarusian market in terms of cognitive and excursion tourism," he said.
As for the possibility of organizing a direct flight between Belarus and Vladivostok, this is not a prospect for the very near future, Filip Guly said. At the same time, he is convinced that by the time a direct flight to the Far East is launched, the Belarusian travel business should be prepared to be able to offer consumers an interesting tourist product.
"Belarusian travelers are now more familiar with the tour products of the Russian Federation than in 2019. But still not widely, and far from everyone. And Belarusian travel companies are very eager to get acquainted with Russian tour operators and regions," he added. Such an opportunity will be presented to them during the second Belarusian-Russian tourism congress, which will be held in Minsk on 17-18 April.
