During this year's nationwide subbotnik [voluntary labor day] on 17 April, Belarusians beautified and tidied up territories of cities and villages, sites of historical and cultural heritage, memorial complexes, places of combat glory and military glory of the Great Patriotic War. As much as 50% of the funds to be earned during the subbotnik were transferred to the Healthcare Ministry, the remaining 50% of the funds were left at the disposal of the oblast administrations and the Minsk City Executive Committee.
