NASB: Vasilevskaya is recovering fast, will return to Minsk soon

OSCOW, 8 April (BelTA) - First cosmonaut of sovereign Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya is recovering well after a two-week space flight that ended on 6 April and will return to Minsk in the coming days, Deputy Head of the Aerospace Activities Department of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) Ivan Bucha told BelTA.
"Rehabilitation is going as planned," Ivan Bucha said.

Marina Vasilevskaya and the Hero of Russia Oleg Novitsky, who is a native of Belarus, are currently in the health center of the Cosmonaut Training Center of the Roscosmos State Corporation in Zvyozdny Gorodok (Star City) near Moscow. According to the medical regulations, access to them is severely restricted, and the narrow circle of people who have access to the cosmonauts communicate with them at a considerable distance.

"Today I talked to Marina Vasilevskaya. According to her, she feels much better than upon landing, which means the recovery process is fast and positive," Ivan Bucha said.

"They have already begun undergoing medical tests as part of their rehabilitation. I've talked to medical professionals. Everything is going according to plan. Marina's mood is excellent. Probably, in a day we can say say that her condition has completely stabilized," Ivan Bucha said.

"Marina Vasilevskaya is expected to return to Minsk in the coming days," he added.
