SOLIGORSK, 3 January (BelTA) - The latest space developments of Belarusian scientists, the model of the Antarctic station and a line of healthy food products are on display at the exhibition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus “A Look Beyond the Horizon”. The NASB exhibition is held at Belaruskali as part of the nationwide social and cultural campaign Marathon of Unity, which is taking place in Soligorsk on 3-4 January, BelTA has learned.
“We are pleased to play host to a unique exhibition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. I am sure that young people who is to attend the exhibition will make their choice in favor of different areas of science in the future. The exhibition will also be of interest to the city residents from the point of view of practical application of scientific discoveries,” General Director of Belaruskali Andrei Rybakov said, opening the exhibition.
“Any major industry cannot develop without science. The same applies to the potash industry. The Academy of Sciences was pleased to join the Marathon of Unity. We have already showcased our developments in Baranovichi. Minsk is next in line. Over the years of independence, the NASB has significantly increased in quantity and quality. Every year we make hundreds of new developments that move our country forward. Therefore, we bring special gratitude to the leadership of the country, the head of state, under whose direct patronage we work,” Director of the Center for System Analysis and Strategic Research Valeri Goncharov said.
Scientists of Belarus are constantly building up their competencies, while the capabilities of our science extend from outer space to the bowels of the earth, from hot regions to Antarctica, where the 17th Belarusian expedition is currently working.
The latest developments in genetics, new materials, monocrystals and artificial emeralds, biopreparations for soil remediation and water purification, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, Belarusian satellites and optics for the most powerful lasers are on display at the exhibition in Soligorsk.
