Naryshkin: Cooperation between intelligence services of Belarus, Russia is built on a trusting basis

MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) - Cooperation between the intelligence services of Belarus and Russia is built on a trusting and constructive basis, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin told the media in Minsk on 15 April, BelTA learned.

“Cooperation between the intelligence services of our two states is built on a constructive and trusting basis. It grows and expands every year across the areas of their activities. I would say that this interaction is a continuation and reflection of the trusting relations between the leaders of our two countries,” Sergei Naryshkin said.

The SVR director noted that the Belarusian State Security Committee and the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service face difficult specific tasks to ensure the security of Belarus and Russia, and to counteract aggressive intentions of unfriendly countries against the interests of the two states.

“Quite a lot has already been done in this direction. At the same time we see an increase in the military activity of NATO states near our borders. We feel and see that European countries - especially France, Great Britain and Germany - are increasing the level of escalation around the Ukrainian conflict. Therefore, we need to be proactive. We are ready for this,” Sergei Naryshkin emphasized.
