MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – A military delegation of Myanmar led by Chief of Staff of Air Defense, Lieutenant-General Tin Maung Win completed their visit to Belarus on 13 February, official representative for information and public relations of the Belarusian State Authority for Military Industry Vladimir Lavrenyuk told BelTA.
The delegation visited several defense enterprises to get acquainted with their capabilities in the development and production, maintenance and modernization of air defense means. The head of the Myanmar delegation had a working meeting with Chairman of the Belarusian State Authority for Military Industry Roman Golovchenko.
The parties exchanged opinions on the results of the common projects in air defense, confirmed mutual interest in further development of relations. They noted mutually beneficial nature of bilateral relations, and the prospects for cooperation across several new promising areas of air defense.
In furtherance of the agreements reached during the 12th session of the Belarus-Myanmar commission on military and technical cooperation held in Naypyidaw on 25-26 November 2019, the Myanmar delegation visited the defense industries to get objective information about Belarus' capabilities in air defense, Roman Golovchenko noted.
