MPs urged to promote Belarus’ initiatives on all platforms

MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) –  Parliamentarians must promote Belarus’ initiatives on all possible platforms, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Human Rights, Ethnic Relations and Mass Media Nikolai Buzin told reporters, BelTA has learned. 

At the meeting of the first session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation, deputies continued their work on the formation of constituent elements of the House of Representatives. In particular, standing commissions have been formed. 

“During today’s meeting of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, all 14 standing commissions have been formed, deputy chairs of the commissions have been elected. And the parliament is ready to work in the new composition. Organizational work is on the home stretch, and starting next week we will get down to fulfilling specific tasks within our area of responsibility,” the deputy noted. 

According to Nikolai Buzin, the commission he chairs has to deal with some big tasks. “Indeed, a struggle for people’s minds is going on, we have to acknowledge it. The attempts to change the attitudes of our society, youth, people from all walks of life will continue. What are our priorities? First of all, to defend the interests of our country and Belarusian people and to promote the initiatives of the Republic of Belarus on all possible platforms,” he added.
