MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – Meetings of the Foreign Ministers Council and the Heads of State Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held in Moscow on 7 and 8 October, First Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Leonid Anfimov told reporters prior to a meeting of the CIS Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives in Minsk on 25 June, BelTA has learned.

“Today’s meeting will focus on the draft agendas of the upcoming meetings of the Foreign Ministers Council and the Heads of State Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States that will be held in Moscow on 7 and 8 October,” Leonid Anfimov noted.

According to him, draft agendas for the meetings are still under discussion. “Today we are having a kind of first reading. I can only name one issue - the appeal of the Heads of State Council to the peoples of the CIS countries and the world community on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The remaining issues are still in the works,” Leonid Anfimov added.

The meeting of the CIS Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives is taking place in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk. The permanent representatives will take stock of the results of the meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council that took place in Ashgabat on 24 May, and map out steps to implement the documents and agreements reached. In addition, there are plans to discuss mutual investments in the CIS within the framework of the agreement on free trade in services and on investments, and to consider a draft of new regulations on the CIS Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives.
