MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – A delegation of Belarus’ Armed Forces led by Chief of the General Staff, First Deputy Defense Minister of Belarus, Major-General Viktor Gulevich took part in a regular session of the committee of chiefs of staffs of the Armed Forces of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Moscow, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
Participants of the session exchanged opinions about matters concerning regional security and international security, passed a resolution on further development and operation of the joint communication system, and sketched out avenues of cooperation of the CIS armies in combat training and field training.
Chief of the Air Force and Air Defense Command of Belarus’ Armed Forces, Major-General Andrei Lukyanovich presented a report on directions of development of the united regional air defense system of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
Participants of the session decided in favor of holding the next session of the committee of chiefs of staffs of the CIS armies in Belarus in 2025.
