MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) - A monument to Hero of the Soviet Union Ion Soltys will be unveiled in Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk City Hall.
The sculptural composition has been designed by Khizri Asadulaev, a native of Russia's Dagestan who has lived in Minsk for almost 40 years. It is in the Belarusian capital that he has matured as a sculptor and an artist.
The bust made of bronze will be installed on a pedestal of red granite. It will be 3,5 meters high. The monument will be installed in the park at the intersection of Vaupshasov and Soltys streets in Minsk in May.
The project to erect the monument has been initiated by the Moldovan diaspora and with the support of the Moldovan Embassy in Belarus.
