In 1945, Mongolia officially declared war on Japan for the first time in its history and, standing shoulder to shoulder with Soviet army soldiers, actively participated in the military campaign, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Belarus Batsukh Bayarsaikhan said. Over 21,000 Mongolian soldiers took part in the battles, and more than 42,000 servicemen and officers were mobilized. Mongolia sent thousands of horses, tanks, armored vehicles, aircraft, as well as special units to the front. According to him, only five Mongolian veterans of that war are living. They are now almost 100 years old. “We are the heart of memory, so we will never lose this history," Ambassador Batsukh Bayarsaikhan emphasized.

He added that Mongolia also has museums similar to the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War that holds events dedicated to the Great Victory. “The photo exhibition displays the archival materials related to the Second World War that have kept for 30 years. We will eternally honor the heroic deeds of the Soviet and Belarusian soldiers who fought shoulder to shoulder with our soldiers," Ambassador Batsukh Bayarsaikhan said.
