MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – Minsk Days are running in Russia's Kazan on 9-10 June. Taking part in the event is Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev, BelTA reports citing the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
The first day of the mayor's visit was packed with official meetings and business talks, which resulted in the signing of a number of inter-regional cooperation agreements.
In line with a tradition, the visit began with a flower-laying ceremony at the Glory Monument in Victory Park to pay tribute to the feat of peoples who fought in the Great Patriotic War. After that, a business forum “Minsk and Kazan: Twinning as a New Driver for Development” was held. The forum sought to explore cooperation opportunities in key areas.
Following the plenary session, major documents aimed at strengthening partnerships between the two cities were signed: a Minsk-Kazan cooperation program for 2025-2027, as well as an agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the administration of the Partizansky District of Minsk and the administrations of Kirovsky District and Moskovsky District of Kazan.
In addition, a number of cooperation agreements in sports, tourism, culture, education and other areas were concluded.
During the visit, Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev held an official meeting with Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening twinning ties and implementing joint initiatives.
Minsk Days in Kazan will continue on 10 June. According to the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee, this initiative is expected to give a new impetus to effective bilateral cooperation.
