Minsk International Book Fair kicks off in Belarusian capital

MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) - The 31st Minsk International Book Fair opened in the Belarusian capital at 14 Pobeditelei Avenue on 14 March, BelTA has learned.

Opening the exhibition, First Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Maksim Ryzhenkov noted that every year this event expands the horizons of book publishing and explores new reflections, meanings and new approaches of truly responsible and truly passionate authors from Belarus and friends from abroad.

Maksim Ryzhenkov is confident that the Minsk International Book Fair has proved over the years that it is a high-quality event. "If the quality mark were awarded to events and activities, it would be placed next to the logo," he said.

Maksim Ryzhenkov read out a message of greetings from the Belarusian president to the guests and participants of the international book fair and the 20th International Symposium of Writers "Writer and Time".

The main themes of the exhibition are the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the Year of Quality, anniversaries of the Belarusian famous writers and poets, etc.

This year, the Islamic Republic of Iran is the central exhibitor of the International Quarter program.
