Minsk hosts meeting of twin cities of Belarus, Germany

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – Minsk is playing host to the 11th meeting of representatives of the twin cities of Belarus and Germany on 18-20 November, BelTA has learned.

The program of this international event includes meetings, visits to Belarusian cities, including Zhodino and Zaslavl, a number of enterprises, a plenary session, and bilateral negotiations.

The organizers of the event are the Belarusian Public Organization "Twin Cities" and the Federal Union of Friendship Societies of Germany.

The previous, 10th anniversary meeting of the twin cities of Belarus and Germany was held in Wittenberg, Germany in 2018. The focus was on sustainable development issues, which are important for both sides. It featured the plenary session and breakout sessions with a discussion of the state and prospects for economic, investment, cultural, youth cooperation of partner cities, and also visits to enterprises, educational and cultural facilities of Wittenberg. Then, for the first time, the organizers invited Belarusian and German youth and organized a separate section for them. The young people participated in some events, prepared videos, presentations, talked to representatives of the Belarusian and German delegations.
