MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) - Representatives of 8 German and 10 Belarusian cities of Belarus have gathered in Minsk for the regular Belarusian-German meeting, Boris Batura, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian public organization Twin Cities, said at the 12th meeting of representatives of the twin cities of Belarus and Germany in Minsk on 18 November, BelTA has learned.
"People's diplomacy of cities has become an integral part of interstate relations. This also serves as a special channel of translating mutual fondness and spiritual closeness," he said. “This can be confirmed by Heinz Wehmeier from Wittenberg and Maksim Gurin, Chairman of the Mogilev City Council, Dietmar Kolmer from Dietzenbach and Svetlana Smolikova, Deputy Chairwoman of the Kostyukovichi District Executive Committee, Günter Kleck, Elvira Müller, Natalia Bachmann from Friedrichshafen and Svetlana Valyushkina, Deputy Chairman of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, Monika Tharann from Berlin and other participants of today's meeting.
