MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky told the STV TV channel about plans to train Belarusian rescuers to act in special conditions, BelTA informs.
The head of state set a task to train Belarusian rescuers to act in special situations. The first situation has to do with riots inside the country. Here rescuers will back up law enforcement. The second situation is an armed conflict and aggression against Belarus. In this case rescuers will act in the interests of the Defense Ministry, Vadim Sinyavsky said.
According to him, the Emergencies Ministry is preparing to operate in these conditions. “In addition, the task was set to equip the personnel with service weapons. By 15 June we will receive weapons from the Defense Ministry and will actually be ready to perform the tasks set for the Emergencies Ministry,” the minister noted.
At the moment, changes are being made to the training program of the University of Civil Protection. “Students of the university will undergo appropriate training,” Vadim Sinyavsky added. “Yet, I would like to make a reservation: we will carry out these tasks when special situations arise. This is an important, key point. Because there are a lot of opinions on this matter, we receive various questions. Honestly speaking, our employees were also worried about how they will perform this task. But when they embarked on training, everything became clear. Everyone now understands perfectly well why, when and under what conditions we will do this work,” the minister said.
“The better we are prepared, the fewer opportunities our ill-wishers will have to put the Belarusian society to the test once again,” Vadim Sinyavsky stated.
