Minister: No problem with meeting Russia's 48-hour PCR test requirement for travel

MOSCOW, 13 December (BelTA) – Meeting a 48-hour PCR test requirement for travel to Russia will be no problem for Belarus, Belarusian Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich told the media following the collegium meeting of the healthcare ministries of Belarus and Russia in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

"We have 56 laboratories that work 24/7. We have not had had problems with the 72-hour PCR test requirement and I do not think that there will be problems with the 48 hour requirement," Dmitry Pinevich said.

A few days ago, Russia tightened the requirement. Now anyone traveling to Russia is required to present a negative PCR test no older than 48 hours before travel.

The collegium meeting was attended by Russian Healthcare Minister Mikhail Murashko and his Belarusian counterpart Dmitry Pinevich, State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Dmitry Mezentsev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko. The main topic on the agenda was the improvement of the medical aid quality control system.
