MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not implement enhanced security measures in the wake of the attempted coup, Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov said answering a question from journalists, BelTA has learned.
“The police perform routine law enforcement work. There are no enhanced security measures, we respond to threats that emerge every now and then,” Ivan Kubrakov said.
At the same time, more attention is paid to public order. “You have probably noticed increased police presence on the streets. The increased number of officers on foot patrol is due to the spring-summer season. Although it is not warm yet, young people have already started flocking to parks and squares, so our employees maintain public order there as usual,” the minister added.
