Minister: Lukashenko's speech at COP29 in Baku turns into quotes

BAKU, 13 November (BelTA) - The speech of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko at the World Climate Change Summit (COP29) in Baku is widely quoted by colleagues, Belarusian Natural Resources and Environmental Protection minister Sergei Maslyak told the media, BelTA has learned.
The forum continues its work. On 13 November the Belarusian minister participated in various events and held meetings with colleagues on the sidelines of the summit. "The president's speech is widely quoted today. Colleagues, among other things, compare COP29 with an environmental ‘bazaar’,” Sergei Maslyak noted. "The president's remark was absolutely correct. It is time we start to walk the talk."

In this regard, the minister emphasized that Belarus fully meets all its environmental commitments, including those under the Paris Agreement.

As it was reported earlier, the World Climate Summit is being held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Thousands of representatives from different countries are participating in the event. The day before, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko took part in the discussion. He emphasized the ineffectiveness of climate change measures, especially in the light of ongoing military conflicts in the world, which have a direct impact on the environment and contribute to negative climatic changes.
