MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) - The Victory Parade held in Moscow on 9 May was not just a military event. This division also revealed that Europe betrayed those who fought against Nazism, be they soldiers or partisans. The expert noted that the countries with active anti-fascist movements during the war actually ignore the memory of partisans, and some are even hostile to them. They are still fighting against these people albeit with different methods than those used by the Nazis, he said. "There is another part of the world - the one that celebrated Victory Day together with the USSR and other countries. They came to solidarize with the victory over Nazism," he added.
Yakov Kedmi also drew a historical parallel. "We can paraphrase Stalin's words: 9 May is a holiday of victory over Nazism, and 8 May is a day of mourning for those who were in league with it. The parade clearly showed that.”
