MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus hosted members of the European Parliament on 5 June, BelTA has learned.
“If you listen to European narratives, you would think that it is hell here. But when I came, I saw with my own eyes how good things are with manufacturing, business; the country has thriving trade with Kazakhstan, Russia, and eastern countries and uses these partnerships to develop its economy. Therefore, it looks like many things that they say about Belarus are a lie,” said Milan Uhrík, member of the European Parliament, leader of the Republic Movement party (Slovakia), Vice-Chair of the Europe of Sovereign Nations Group.
According to him, his visit to Belarus was meant to emphasize that his party condemns the policy of isolation and sanctions. “I also wanted to make a point that we would very much like to see the normalization of relations,” the MEP remarked.
