MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – Kiev’s possible attempt “to move the war to Belarus” may give Minsk the full grounds to ask Moscow to use tactical nuclear weapons, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said in his Telegram channel, BelTA learned.
Dmitry Medvedev gave a brief and succinct comment outlining the specific consequences of the scandalous statement about the need “to move the war to Belarus” made by Ukrainian MP Oleg Dunda, a member of the Servant of the People party.
"Well then, Aleksandr Grigorievich [Lukashenko, Belarusian President] will have full grounds to ask Russia to use the tactical nuclear weapons deployed in Belarus,” he stated.
Belarus seeks peace, intends to avoid turning its territory into a battlefield. However, as the head of state has repeatedly emphasized, in the event of an attack on the country, the aggressor will be given a response.
