Medininkai crossing capacity below 50% due to repair works

MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) - The capacity of the Medininkai checkpoint at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border is less than 50% due to repair works, BelTA learned from the Grodno customs.

“According to the Lithuanian side, due to the ongoing repair works the number of employees and traffic lanes for vehicles has been reduced at the border checkpoint Medininkai (Kamenny Log on Belarus' side). At present the Medininkai border checkpoint operates at less than 50% of its capacity,” the Grodno customs informed.

According to customs information, over the past 24 hours Lithuania, both in entry and exit directions, cleared only 30% of the minimum number of cargo transport established by bilateral agreements designed to ensure the continuous flow across the border.

The Belarusian customs recommends carriers planning to cross the Belarusian-Lithuanian border to take this information into account.
