Mass media urged to promote constructive processes

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – The mass media should serve as a catalyst for constructive processes, Belarusian Information Minister Lilia Ananich said as she attended the 20th international expo Mass Media in Belarus on 11 May, BelTA has learned.

When speaking about the 11th Belarusian International Media Forum, Lilia Ananich noted: “We will emphasize once again that the mass media today should work as a catalyst for constructive processes. It is very hard to see when the neighboring, seemingly peaceful fraternal countries, like Ukraine, have experienced and are experiencing a national tragedy when the disunity of people resulted in bloodshed,” the minister stressed.

She noted that partaking in the expo Mass Media in Belarus are more than 50 exhibitors from Belarus and other countries. Beside, Belarus is playing host to a regular session of a permanent seminar of the Belarus-Russia Union State Parliamentary Assembly. The session attended by Belarusian and Russian MPs and top executives is discussing the information space of the Union State.
