ZHLOBIN, 25 October (BelTA) – Zhlobin State College of Service hosted the Non-boring Not-lecture within the framework of the nationwide social and cultural campaign Marathon of Unity on 25 October, BelTA has learned.
The main topic discussed during the meeting was choice. Deputy Education Minister Yekaterina Petrutskaya pointed out that every person makes this or that choice almost every day. "The students have already chosen a career, and soon they will choose a life partner. Every day we deal with a choice. The reality is that no one thinks about what choice is, what unity is. These concepts seem to be so simple, but they are full of meaning and content. Today we have discussed these important concepts with the students," she emphasized.
Yekaterina Petrutskaya recalled that the Non-boring Not-lectures had already been held within the Marathon of Unity in Molodechno and Gomel. "The feedback is very good. Following the meetings in Gomel colleges, we conducted a survey to figure out whether the students would recommend their friends to take part in such an event. We found that 99.9% of the students would recommend their friends to attend the Not-Boring Not-lecture. They really liked interesting guests and discussions on an equal footing," she said.
"Our young people are quite active. They are ready for such a dialogue," she added.
Speaking about the career choice of the college students, head of the Fashion Mill project, head of the Fashion and Design Department of the National Art Center for Children and Youth, Igor Ivanov noted: "It is great that students choose this educational institution, because manual labor is still prestigious and important. The national fashion and photo contest Fashion Mill encourages young people to become seamstresses and fashion designers."
Igor Ivanov pointed out that the students create fashion collections every year. "I think the collections will be popular both in everyday life and in competitions not only in our country, but also abroad," he said.
He also added that it is very effective when experts with rich experience in different fields attend Non-Boring Not-Lectures. "This is a great opportunity for each student," he noted.
This opinion was also supported by future hairstylist Yana Kushner. "It is an unusual conversation on important things; it is very interesting and useful. It was a lively dialogue with a lot of opinions. I think that each of us have learned something valuable," she shared her impressions.
"We have talked together about making the right choice. This is actually very important. In fact, your future depends on choosing a profession, an educational institution, and so on. The main thing is to make the right and timely choice and not to regret. Today we have learned more about it in such a fun way," student Ilya Guzov added.
