Marathon of Unity continues its run in Minsk

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) - The national social and cultural campaign Marathon of Unity continues its run in Minsk, BelTA learned.
According to BelTA Director General Irina Akulovich, BelTA’s exhibition “When We Are United! Milestones in the Marathon of Unity” emphasizes the energy of the Marathon. “Absolutely every photo, every tablet carries the light energy of unity. We wanted to show that our country is indivisible, and this idea is at the heart of the exposition,” she noted.
The exposition features significant moments of the Marathon: meetings, actions, concerts, quests, exhibitions, interactive platforms. “These are Meet-and-Greets, Not-Boring Not-Lectures, the projects ‘We do one thing’ and ‘We work together, we sing together” and the wall mural project. In fact, the exhibition reflects all the events of the Marathon. We selected the brightest moments, which was not easy, because every city has its own vibe,” Irina Akulovich said.
Director General of the Minskmetrostroy metro construction company Vasily Kosovets, answering questions from the press, noted that Minsk Metro and Minskmetrostroy really do one thing. The Minsk metro became this thing. “Our interaction is one of the most exemplary. We seem to be two different enterprises but we work for one and the same goal. Every day when you take a ride in the metro you can evaluate our work,” Vasily Kosovets emphasized.

He also emphasized the importance of having more such meetings in an informal setting. “It's a very interesting meeting because we, as builders, often visit the metro. They, however, visit us less often. They come to the construction site, but to visit our production is a rare thing,” Vasily Kosovets said.

Director General of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus Yekaterina Dulova said that there had never been such a space organized by the theater before the Marathon of Unity. “This is the first time we have gone beyond the boundaries of our historical building. A certain logic of events that accompanied both the history of the theater and its personalities is shown here,” she said.

“The opera theater has spoken like a big book here. We go and read its history, trace the key stages of development. In my opinion, the proposal of the marathon organizers to present the Bolshoi Theatre from this absolutely unknown behind-the-scenes historical side is a huge success. I am grateful for it, because we have realized that the time has finally come to organize a museum space at the Bolshoi Theatre, and this exhibition will make its basis,” the director general said.

The exhibition is held in the new building of the medical university, Deputy Healthcare Minister Aleksandr Starovoitov. The exposition presents the achievements of modern medicine. In fact, it is a new word in the approach to the treatment of various diseases, training of specialists, etc.

The key value of Belarus is the consolidation of society based on the preservation of state, family, cultural and historical values. “The opportunity to meet with the younger generation and share my experiences is very important for me. I also have a lot to learn from the youth. Unity is the most important thing we have achieved in Belarus. It is about the unity of all Belarusians, the understanding of the need to preserve our state and family, cultural and historical values,” Grigory Vasilevich said.
“Our young people are open-minded and in many ways they are similar to us and the previous generations. Sometimes we, adults, do not spend enough time with our children. We have no time to talk about things that concern the younger generation. Such events as Not-Boring Not-Lecture are aimed at answering the questions of young people, listening to their opinions on the policy that the government is pursuing today, learning about their initiatives to improve our country," Andrei Ivanets stated.
The book is the embodiment of knowledge and culture. The human soul can be found within its pages,” Director General of the National Library of Belarus Vadim Gigin said during the opening of the exhibition.
Representative of the working group for the Marathon of Unity campaign, director of the Palace of the Republic Maksim Prikhodovsky stressed the concert is dedicated to the women of Minsk. Its program included famous musical compositions. “It is great that the songs of Belarusian artists have become so popular,” he said.
