GOMEL, 20 October (BelTA) – The Marathon of Unity campaign in Gomel has brought together tens of thousands of people, BelTA has learned.
This national social and cultural campaign was full of events, activities and creativity, and drew tens of thousands of people.
The concert “Time has chosen us” was a beautiful culmination of the unity festival. “The two-hour program passed in one breath. Our palms are burning from applause. We rose from our seats many times to show appreciation to the guests and artists. Words fail me to express how amazing the concert was,” Gomel resident Viktoria said.
The music piece Slavic Constellation performed by Nikolai Lukashenko and his teacher Yelena Ostashkina-Myslivchik engulfed the audience in the magic of musicality and airiness. The fabulous atmosphere was created by two grand pianos BELARUS, a play of light and shadows, a video on the screen about the historical unity of Belarusians and fraternal nations during the years of division and the struggle for reunification, and at the present stage, as well as their efforts to preserve and strengthen the sovereignty of the country, to ensure a peaceful life in the future. The audience in the ice arena really liked the concert and welcomed the performers with generous applause.
Music entries by groups from Brest and Mogilev were life-affirming and upbeat. The Belarusian state ensemble Pesnyary presented a medley of legendary songs as well as a new song. The organizers and participants of the two-day event are sure that it was a real marathon of unity, culture and beauty of the Slavic soul.
The performers were able to highlight the authenticity of the Polesie region, offering the audience a journey into the history and culture of the south-eastern region.
