MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei answered a question on the prospects of launching a direct air service with the Crimea in an interview with RT TV channel, BelTA has learned.
"Crimea is a really beautiful territory. A great place to holiday. It is a favorite holiday spot for Belarusians. There is no travel ban. It is clear that taking this situation into account, everyone makes a decision for themselves. As you know, Belarus also has spa and wellness centers in Miskhor which host not only Belarusian citizens but also Russian citizens. Therefore, there are no prohibitions as such. But as for the essence of your question, I must say that we need to look into the economics of this move. If it is beneficial, let's say, for society, for the country, for the state, then, I think, the appropriate decision will be made,” the minister noted.
According to him, it is necessary to take into account some other aspects related to possible sanctions that may be imposed against Belarus. “"We need to analyze everything. I would like to repeat that if it makes economic sense, I think that an appropriate decision can be made,” Vladimir Makei noted.
