MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – A large-scale cycling rally dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will be running in Belarus from 14 to 19 July, Head of the Physical Culture Department of the Sports and Tourism Ministry Ivan Mokshin said at the press conference dedicated to outdoor tourism in Belarus, BelTA has learned.
The cycling rally will be held in two stages across Brest Oblast, Vitebsk Oblast, Grodno Oblast and Minsk Oblast. The first stage is scheduled for 14-17 July, the second for 18-19 July. The rally will start at the Brest Hero Fortress and will end at the All Saints Memorial Church in Minsk on 19 July. The cycling rally is organized by the Sports and Tourism Ministry, the Belarusian Orthodox Church, the
Plenipotentiary for Religions and Nationalities, as well as regional and district executive committees. It is meant for cycling enthusiasts aged 18 and older.
Ivan Mokshin drew attention to the increasing number of cycling rallies in Belarus. Such events draw people of all ages. This year, there will be 23 cycling rallies in Vitebsk Oblast, Gomel Oblast and Minsk Oblast, 21 in Mogilev Oblast and Minsk Oblast, and 19 in Brest Oblast and Grodno Oblast. The itinerary features memorable places, monuments to the Great Patriotic War.
There will also be car rallies.
