MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) - The standby forces acted in accordance with the plan of the unified regional air defense system, Major-General Andrei Lukyanovich, commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Troops, told the media as he commented on the recent incident with the violation of the state border, BelTA has learned.
“Yesterday, on 9 August 2024, after 18.00, a group of unmanned aerial vehicles violated the state border of the Republic of Belarus. According to the objective control data, the unmanned aerial vehicles were launched from the territory of Ukraine. Units performing air defense combat duty tasks shot down several drones. The rest were destroyed by units of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation,” Andrei Lukyanovich said.
“All steps were carried out in accordance with the action plan of the standby forces of the unified regional air defense system,” Andrei Lukyanovich said.
