MINSK, 26 December (BelTA - TASS) – Chopping firewood is a way to distress for Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. According Press Secretary of the Belarusian president Natalya Eismont, Russia always has "both firewood and axes on standby" for the Belarusian leader, BelTA has learned.
"Today Aleksandr Grigorievich again chose his traditional way of stress relief," she told TASS on the margins of the the EAEU summit.
The press secretary went on saying that on the one hand it is an opportunity for the Belarusian leader to take his mind off in the fresh air by means of physical exercise, on the other hand it is a habit, which allows him to keep fit all the time.
"The president follows this lifestyle and tries to keep to it wherever he is," she said. "If it is possible, of course. Because not everywhere he has a chance to do it. We are on a visit [to Russia], but we feel almost like at home: we always get help. Both firewood and axes are always at standby. So if everything is in place, why not?"
According to Natalya Eismont, the Belarusian president chops firewood before the most important negotiations not only in Russia, but also at home. "It has been reported and shown many time that Aleksandr Grigorievich chops firewood almost every day or even several times a day, in the morning and in the evening. In Minsk too," she shared.
