MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) - Lithuania should not interfere in the internal affairs of Belarus, including any support to Belarus’ self-exiled opposition, former Lithuanian presidential candidate Eduardas Vaitkus told a press conference in BelTA’s press center on 13 May, BelTA has learned.

“Lithuania should not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. Likewise, other countries should not interfere in the affairs of Lithuania,” said Eduardas Vaitkus. Nevertheless, the Lithuanian leadership supports the Belarusian self-exiled opposition and keeps them at the expense of Lithuanian taxpayers, the politician stressed.
According to the former presidential candidate, Lithuanian law enforcers refused to cooperate with their Belarusian colleagues and do not extradite criminals wanted by Belarus.
“I am in favor of such cooperation. Our Lithuanian government thinks otherwise, however. There is such an opinion that they use these people for their needs. At the same time, they receive instructions not from Lithuania, but from other global structures,” Eduardas Vaitkus added.
