MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – Belarus gets negative media coverage in Lithuania, former Lithuanian presidential candidate Eduardas Vaitkus said at a press conference in BelTA’s press center in Minsk on 13 May.
"They say bad things about you," the politician said.
According to him, Lithuania's task is to dehumanize Belarusians. But not all Lithuanians believe what they are told about Belarus.
"I nominated myself [as a presidential candidate] in the district near the border with Belarus. Mostly Polish- or Russian-speaking people live there. Regarding the relations with Belarus, the locals want to see the borders opened and the number of military training grounds in Lithuania reduced. And they want good neighborly relations. They believe it 100%," Eduardas Vaitkus said.
