MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) - The National Statistical Committee of Belarus presented the preliminary results of a sample survey of individuals at border.
Specialists distributed 2,001 questionnaires at four road crossing points. Of the total number, 1,033 questionnaires (or 51.6%) were completed. Among persons crossing the border, non-residents of Belarus accounted for 55.8%. They filled out 576 questionnaires. Belarusian citizens completed 457 questionnaires.
Most Belarusian citizens headed to Poland (28.5%), Lithuania (25.1%), Spain (13.1), and Germany (10.1%). Among visitors to Belarus, residents of Lithuania accounted for 42.3%, Latvia - 12.2%, Poland - 11.6%, Russia - 11.3%.
The majority of Belarusian citizens and foreign citizens stayed abroad for not more than three days. Such short trips were indicated by 53.2% of residents and 71.9% of non-residents of Belarus.
